Dear People:-

I don’t know whether this will get to you before we get across or not but am writing it anyway.  We came aboard yesterday afternoon after being stranded 13 miles out of Halifax for a day.  This is certainly a grand boat – the biggest liner there is now.  We sleep in hammocks strung from hooks in the wall and I found mine O.K. last night.  We are travelling 3rd class but the eats are splendid so far although the quarters are a little cramped.  Expect to leave tomorrow. Love

John
