Dear People:-
Rec'd mothers welcome letter today & also the box last Monday. We all thought the cakes were fine and enjoyed them very much.
I am feeling rather tired tonight as we were out on an all-day route march today - down to Port Stanley and back a distance of about 20 miles. WE had dinner down there at a hotel. It was pretty hot as we had our packs on but a little sweat didn't do us any harm. We got in at 5 o'clock a pretty tired bunch but a shower bath and supper freshened me up wonderfully.
McKinstry was down tonight from London. He doesn't like it very well there and would much rather be here. I hear the bunch is coming back from Sarnia soon and I hope it's true as we all miss Archie and Euart very much.
We haven't heard any more about overseas lately and I haven't the least idea when we will go.; It may be next week or next month for all anyone knows around here.
We have been having decent warm weather here lately and I hope it keeps up.
Hope you are all well I will close now
Love to all
John
