From the Firing Line
We are in receipt of a letter from Pte. Thos. Spencer who is serving his country in France, with the British Forces. He says any news from the North Country is eagerly grabbed, and that he knows no better way of getting it than through the columns of the “Speaker.” We are sending papers to all the boys from this District who wish it, and give us their addresses, and we place Pte. Spencer’s name upon the list with pleasure. Note that the boys are hungry for home news. Send us anything you think will interest the boys from your locality, and we will do the rest. Pte. Spencer says they are in the best of health, and spirits, and are confident of ultimate success. His letter is dated Aug. 14th.
