Wounded Officer to Run against R. B. Bennet

Calgary Eye Opener

Dated: May 20, 1915

The suggestion recently made in local Liberal circles to nominate Stanley Jones, lately wounded at the front, to run as candidate against R.B. Bennett, was a well-meant compliment to that gallant officer. We fear, however, that Stanley will hardly appreciate these efforts on his political behalf. And why should he not? Because at the present moment the word Victory is undeniably engraved on Captain Stanley Jones's brain pan. The slightest suggestion of a possible defeat in any line of human endeavor would, at this particular juncture, be apt to give him a pain.
