The Honor Roll

Pte. Gallagher died in England a short time ago. His home was at the White River and he enlisted at Haileybury. He was married several years ago, and his widow (nee Miss Latimer) is staying with her brother at the White River. The following is from an English paper:
Death took place at Aldershot on Monday last of Oscar Edgar Gallagher, of D. Co., 58th Canadians, after a brief illness. The funeral took place at the Aldershot Military Cemetery on Wednesday, when full military honours were accorded. Captain C.E. Jeakins, chaplain to the 58th Canadians, officiated, and the Royal Fusiliers furnished the funeral honours, including the buglers, who sounded the “Last Post” at the conclusion of the service. Two beautiful wreaths were sent from his regiment and one from the officers of his company, and another from the non-commissioned officers and men of his company, and he was followed by his platoon commander, Lieutenant G. Clapperton of his old regiment, the 97th. Messrs. Finch and Sons carried out the funeral arrangements.
