Dear Mother:
Received your letter and money order last night. It must take my letters a long time to reach you, for the one you mention was sent in November. We are having pretty cold weather but nothing like what you will be having in Canada, altho it is considered real cold in this country. There is a little snow at present. I don't think it will stay long, as the sun is getting strong and it will not be long till we have warm weather. Clarence Cluff and Bob Gardner are near us now. I haven't been over to see them yet but will go over next week, when we are back in billets. We are in the frontline just now, but only for a few days. Paddy is well and doing sentry duty just now. I asked him how he would like to be back home, and he said the old town would look pretty good to him. I guess it won't be long before we are all back, for Fritz is pretty nearly all in. If he waits until the spring before he finds that out, he certainly will be all in, as we are going to hand what he needs in large doses about that time.
