Service Biography

John Erwin Smith was born at Roxton, Quebec, on 21 September 1895 and worked as a farmer. He was called up under the Military Service Act and joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force at Montreal on 17 July 1918 as Private 3087702 with the 1st Depot Battalion, 1st Quebec Regiment. He served in Canada and was discharged at Montreal on 10 March 1919 on demobilization.
