Joseph Armand Lefebvre was born at Huntingdon, Quebec, on 19 May 1895. A single Roman Catholic salesman, he was drafted under the Military Service Act and entered service at Montreal on 5 January 1918 with the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment. He later served with the 4th Battalion, Canadian Garrison Regiment, remained in Canada throughout his service, attained the rank of Sergeant, and was discharged at Montreal on 31 July 1919 on demobilization.
