Service Biography

Private Elzear Lalonde was born on 1 June 1897 at Ste-Barbe, Quebec. A farmer, he was living at Ormstown, Quebec, R.R. No. 1, and named his father, Julien Lalonde, as next of kin. He was drafted under the Military Service Act and enrolled at Montreal on 7 July 1918, serving in Canada as a Private with the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment. His pay record notes that he was on furlough until 1 December 1918. Lalonde was demobilized at Montreal on 31 January 1919.
