Service Biography

Edgar Viau was born on 20 July 1896 at St-Urbain, Quebec. A single Roman Catholic farmer, he was drafted under the Military Service Act and served in Canada as Private 3087812 with the 1st Depot Battalion, 1st Quebec Regiment, Canadian Expeditionary Force. His service reckoned from 17 July 1918. He was struck off strength at Montreal on 17 August 1918 on return to the Registrar's Records.

Edgar Viau was drafted under the Military Service Act and served as Private 3087812 with the 1st Depot Battalion, 1st Quebec Regiment, Canadian Expeditionary Force. His service reckoned from 17 July 1918 and was entirely in Canada. He was struck off strength at Montreal on 17 August 1918 on return to the Registrar's Records. The later reference to P.C. 3051 of 11 December 1918 and confirmation dated 8 March 1919 are retrospective administrative actions and do not extend his service.
