Service Biography
Omar Rolland was born at St-Étienne-de-Beauharnois, Quebec, on 26 December 1894. A butcher and Roman Catholic, he was called up under the Military Service Act and entered service at Montreal on 11 May 1918 as Private 3160358. After initial service with the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment, he transferred to the Canadian Engineers and went overseas in 1918. He served in England with Canadian Engineers reserve and reinforcement units before joining the 3rd Battalion, Canadian Engineers in France in October 1918. He returned to England in March 1919 for repatriation and was discharged at Montreal on 23 April 1919 on demobilization.

Omar Rolland was drafted under the Military Service Act and entered the Canadian Expeditionary Force at Montreal on 11 May 1918 as Private 3160358 with the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment. He transferred to the Canadian Engineers and embarked from Canada on 29 June 1918, arriving in England on 22 July. He served successively with the 2nd and 3rd Canadian Engineers Reserve Battalions and the Canadian Engineers Reinforcement Pool. He was posted to the 3rd Battalion, Canadian Engineers effective 29 September 1918 and joined the unit in the field on 5 October. In March 1919 he returned to England for repatriation, was processed at Bramshott, and was struck off strength to Canada effective 14 April. He was discharged at Montreal on 23 April 1919 on demobilization.
