Service Biography

Louis Paquette was born at Port Arthur, Ontario, on 13 May 1877. A labourer, he had previously served ten years with the 47th Regiment from 1900 to 1911. He attested at Valleyfield, Quebec, on 31 March 1916 and joined the 206th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force as Private 243274. His service remained in Canada. Personnel and casualty records record that he was struck off strength as a deserter at Montreal effective 15 May 1916.

At enlistment Paquette was a labourer, age 38, 5 ft 8 in tall and 158 lb, with a 34–38 in chest, black complexion, black eyes and black hair. He was Roman Catholic and unmarried.
