Service Biography

Elzear Parent was born at Sainte-Martine, Quebec, on 13 October 1897. A farmer and Roman Catholic, he was drafted under the Military Service Act, 1917, and joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force at Montreal on 17 July 1918. He served in Canada as a Private with the 1st Depot Battalion, 1st Quebec Regiment. He was discharged at Montreal on 1 February 1919 on demobilization.

On calling up he was 5 ft 6 in tall, with a fully expanded chest of 38 in and 3 in expansion, medium complexion, brown eyes and brown hair.
