Albert Monette was born at Beauharnois, Quebec, on 22 October 1893. A single Roman Catholic clerk, he was drafted under the Military Service Act at Montreal on 22 April 1918 as Private 3158551. He served in England and France, including service with the 22nd and 87th Battalions. He returned to Canada aboard H.M.T.S. Mauretania and was discharged on demobilization at Montreal on 9 June 1919.

Mauretania on 31 May, and was discharged on demobilization at Montreal on 9 June 1919.
