Service Biography

Emile Montpetit was born at Beauharnois, Quebec, on 10 January 1896. A single Roman Catholic farmer, he was drafted under the Military Service Act and enlisted at Montreal on 15 July 1918. He served in Canada as a Private with the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment, Canadian Expeditionary Force. After a period of farmer's leave he was processed for demobilization and was discharged at Montreal on 12 February 1919.

Notes

The recruit form records Emile Montpetit as single, Roman Catholic and a farmer. His mother, Alice Montpetit of Beauharnois, Quebec, was next of kin. He was not a member of the Active Militia and reported no previous military or naval service. At calling up he was 5 ft 10 in tall, with a 34–37 in chest, medium complexion, blue eyes and light brown hair.
