Service Biography

Louis Montpetit was born at St. Etienne, Beauharnois County, Quebec, on 11 December 1896. A farmer, he was called up under the Military Service Act; his service reckoned from 15 July 1918 and he enlisted at Montreal on 21 August 1918 as Private 3167052 with the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment. He served in Canada and was struck off strength at Montreal on 23 January 1919 during demobilization under the Farmer's Leave procedure.
