Service Biography

Arthur Olivier was born at Beauharnois, Quebec, on 11 November 1895 and worked as a core maker. Drafted under the Military Service Act, he joined the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment at Montreal on 13 May 1918 as Private 3160486. He embarked for England in June 1918 and served in the Canadian reserve system, including the 10th Canadian Reserve Battalion at Bramshott. In November he was placed on command at the Area Signal School at Bletchley, returning later that month. He was appointed acting corporal on 15 January 1919. Olivier returned to Canada for demobilization in June and was discharged at Montreal on 4 July 1919.

The Military Service Act medical history records approximately 130 lb and Category A fitness. The leaving-service medical examination records no disability. Dental records document treatment in England during demobilization processing.
