Notes

Farmer; Roman Catholic; single. Born Montreal, Quebec, 15 July 1892 and living at Valleyfield, Quebec. Previous military service recorded as six months with the 59th Battalion. On calling up he was 5 ft 1½ in tall, chest 35½ in fully expanded with 3½ in expansion, medium complexion, brown eyes and black hair. Distinctive marks: large scars on breast and mole on left side; noted as underweight.

Additional Service Notes

Drafted under the Military Service Act, 1917, Class 1. Attested/enlisted at Ottawa on 17 September 1918 and initially served with the 2nd Depot Battalion, Eastern Ontario Regiment. Taken on strength of No. 3 Battalion, Canadian Garrison Regiment, C.E.F. at Kingston on 29 September 1918. He became illegally absent on 23 October and was struck off strength effective 13 November 1918.

Mother Emma Laviolette, Valleyfield, Quebec, was next of kin. He appointed her executor and left her his property in his will dated 18 September 1918 at Ottawa.
