Service Biography

Gonzague Tessier was born on 29 July 1893 at Valleyfield, Beauharnois County, Quebec. A single Roman Catholic machinist living at Verdun, Quebec, he was drafted under the Military Service Act and reported at Montreal on 27 June 1918. He served in England with the Canadian Expeditionary Force, including the 10th Canadian Reserve Battalion. He returned to Canada in June 1919 and was discharged at Montreal on 4 July 1919 on demobilization.

Gonzague Tessier was drafted under the Military Service Act and reported at Montreal on 27 June 1918 as Private 3164300. He initially served with the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment, embarked for England on 21 July 1918, and was taken on strength of the 10th Canadian Reserve Battalion after arriving in England on 8 August 1918. He was struck off strength at Ripon on 24 June 1919 to proceed to Canada, entered District Depot No. 4 demobilization processing at Montreal on 25 June, and was discharged there on 4 July 1919.
