Isidore Tessier was born on 8 August 1892 at Valleyfield, Beauharnois County, Quebec. A single Roman Catholic butcher, he enlisted at Montreal on 19 November 1915 as Private 121402. He served overseas with the 69th and 22nd Battalions. On 18 September 1916 he suffered a severe shell wound to his left elbow in France and underwent lengthy treatment in France, England and Canada. He was medically discharged at Montreal on 31 May 1918.

Isidore Tessier enlisted at Montreal on 19 November 1915 as Private 121402 with the 69th Battalion. He transferred to the 22nd Battalion in France in June 1916. On 18 September 1916 he suffered a severe shell wound to the left elbow, with fractures involving the humerus and ulna, and then passed through an extended casualty and hospital system in France and England. He was invalided to Canada in June 1917, continued treatment in Montreal, and was medically discharged there on 31 May 1918.
