Pierre Eugene Veber was born on 11 December 1892 at Coteau du Lac, Quebec. A clerk living at Valleyfield, Quebec, he was called up under the Military Service Act and joined the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment at Montreal on 17 April 1918. He served as a Private and was discharged from the Canadian Expeditionary Force the same day in consequence of being transferred to the Royal Flying Corps. His C.E.F. discharge papers record his conduct as good. The surviving C.E.F. service file does not document his subsequent Royal Flying Corps service.

Born 11 December 1892 at Coteau du Lac, Quebec. At calling up he was a clerk, single and Roman Catholic. He was 5 ft 3 in tall and weighed 111 lb, with dark complexion, brown eyes and dark hair. The Medical History Sheet described his physical development as good and placed him in category A2. The recruit form records a fully expanded chest of 35 in with a 3 in range of expansion; the Medical History Sheet instead records 34 in minimum and 35 in maximum.
