Service Biography

Donat Viau was born at Saint-Timothée, Quebec, on 17 May 1896. A single Roman Catholic baker living in Montreal, he was drafted under the Military Service Act in May 1918 as Private 3162405 with the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment. His service was confined to Canada, and he was discharged at Montreal on 29 June 1918.

He was 5 ft 5 in, 121 lb, with a 30–33 in chest, good physical development, brown complexion, brown eyes and brown hair. His father Zephirin Viau, at the same Montreal address, was next of kin.
