Service Biography

Rosario Payant was born at St-Louis-de-Gonzague, Quebec, on 17 February 1896. A married Roman Catholic farmer, he was drafted under the Military Service Act and joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force at Montreal on 16 July 1918 as Private 3167287. He served in Canada with the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment and was placed on farmer's leave in August 1918. His demobilization was completed at Montreal on 1 February 1919.
