Service Biography

Paul Lecompte was born at Valleyfield, Quebec, on 19 May 1895. A Roman Catholic sailor, he was single when drafted under the Military Service Act. He enlisted at Montreal on 15 July 1918 and served as Private 3167025 with the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He went overseas aboard HMT Saturnia and served in England with the 10th and 23rd Reserve Battalions. During his service he was hospitalized for balanitis and twice for influenza. He returned to Canada aboard S.S. Baltic in June 1919 and was discharged at Montreal on 7 July 1919 on demobilization.
