Service Biography
Albert Petelle was born at Ormstown, Quebec, on 10 March 1897. A labourer and Roman Catholic, he was drafted under the Military Service Act and joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force at Montreal on 17 July 1918. He served with the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment, before going overseas. He arrived in England aboard H.M.T. Kia Ora on 25 August 1918 and served there with the 10th Canadian Reserve Battalion. On 25 June 1919 he embarked for Canada aboard H.M.T. Carmania and was discharged on demobilization at Montreal on 4 July 1919.

Notes
At call-up he was described as 5 ft 4 in tall and 128 lb, with a medium complexion, brown eyes and brown hair. His chest measured 35 inches minimum and 37 inches fully expanded. At the discharge medical examination he was still recorded as 5 ft 4 in tall and weighed 145 lb.
