Service Biography

William Robert Simpson was born at Ormstown, Quebec, on 6 June 1896. A single Presbyterian, he was called up under the Military Service Act at Ottawa on 14 May 1918 as Private 3322555. He served in Canada and England with the Canadian Expeditionary Force, including the 2nd Depot Battalion, Eastern Ontario Regiment, and the 6th Reserve Battalion. After returning to Canada in 1919, Simpson was discharged at Montreal on 3 July 1919 on demobilization.
