Service Biography
Jules Tremblay was born at Sainte-Malachie, Dorchester County, Quebec, on 11 April 1895. He enlisted at Quebec on 21 September 1916 and went overseas later that year. After service with reserve and reinforcement units in England, he was posted to the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles and served in France. He suffered a gunshot wound to the left thigh in August 1918 and was evacuated to England for hospital and convalescent treatment. After recovering, he returned to Canada in March 1919 and was discharged at Quebec on 7 April 1919 on demobilization.

He reported no Active Militia or previous military service. The original Medical History Sheet records height 5 ft 5½ in, weight 125 lb, chest 34 in with 2 in expansion, good physical development, and occupation Carpenter; the attestation describes his occupation as journalier (labourer).

Jules Tremblay enlisted at Quebec on 21 September 1916 with the 167th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. He embarked from Canada on 24 November 1916 and arrived in England aboard S.S. Metagama on 6 December 1916. He was posted through the 10th Reserve Battalion and 150th Battalion before returning to the 10th Reserve Battalion. In 1918 he was posted to the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles and served in France. He suffered a gunshot wound to the left thigh/leg in late August 1918 and was invalided to England, where he received hospital and convalescent treatment. After recovery he passed through reserve/depot organizations for demobilization, proceeded to Canada on 25 March 1919, and was discharged at Quebec on 7 April 1919.
