Research Notes

The principal service, pay, casualty and discharge records consistently use regimental number 841142. A 'Particulars of Family' form for the same Peter Leberge of Ormstown, joining the 163rd Battalion, explicitly gives regimental number 660142 and names the same parents/locality. Treat 660142 as a documented alternate or earlier number only; do not replace 841142. A regimental card records transfer from the 148th Battalion to the 163rd Battalion under 163rd Battalion Routine Order dated 28 April 1916; no separate effective transfer date is stated. Assigned-pay records repeatedly name Mrs. Mary Lavigne of Ormstown and show $10 monthly assigned pay, but no relationship is stated. The family form clearly types the mother's name as Mariline Leberge, same address as the father. No POW history or substantive disciplinary record found.
