Service Biography

William Lussier was born at Ormstown, Quebec, on 21 April 1886. A brick maker and resident of Ormstown, he was called up under the Military Service Act and enlisted at Barriefield, Ontario, on 25 June 1918 as Private 3060611 with the 1st Depot Battalion, Eastern Ontario Regiment. A medical board found a well-marked left inguinal hernia that had existed before enlistment and was not aggravated by service. He was classified Category E and discharged at Barriefield on 27 June 1918 as medically unfit for further military service.

William Lussier was born at Ormstown, Quebec on 21 April 1886. He was a brick maker, Roman Catholic and single, and named his father Louis Lussier of Ormstown as next of kin. He had no previous military or naval service. At medical examination he was 5 ft 7 in tall, weighed 152 lb, and had a chest measurement of 36 in minimum and 38 in maximum. The medical board documented a well-marked left inguinal hernia, originating before enlistment and attributed to lifting; it would not be controlled by a truss. No service aggravation was recorded. He had no overseas service, POW history or medals in this file.
