Service Biography

Alexander Dugald MacDougall was born at Ormstown, Quebec, on 23 March 1887. A carpenter and farmer living in Ormstown, he was drafted under the Military Service Act and joined the 1st Depot Battalion, 1st Quebec Regiment at Montreal on 4 September 1918 as Private 3091360. He was classified A2 and served in Canada. His casualty record shows successive periods of leave of absence without pay from the date he reported until 4 February 1919. He then executed his demobilization release and was struck off strength at Montreal on 4 February 1919. His mother, Marguarita Jane MacDougall of Ormstown, was recorded as his next of kin.
