Service Biography

Julius Jeffery Gordon Richardson was born at Huntingdon, Quebec, on 14 January 1895. A single Presbyterian student, he attested at Montreal on 17 February 1915 and served as Private 65829 with the 24th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. He arrived in England in May 1915, embarked for France in September, and was killed in action on 7 June 1916.

Notes

At enlistment he was 5 ft 7 in tall, with a fully expanded chest of 34 in and 2 in expansion. He had a clear complexion, brown eyes and dark brown hair. The enlistment medical records note one vaccination mark on the left arm and a small mole on the back of the neck. His occupation was student.

He was taken on strength on 19 February 1915, arrived in England aboard S.S. Cameronia on 20 May 1915, and embarked for France from Folkestone on 15 September 1915. He served with the 24th Battalion in the field and was killed in action on 7 June 1916.
